28 February 2023 – The Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN) welcomes the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) as its newest member. UBA is a banking union bringing together all 18 commercial banks operating in the Republic of Armenia. UBA works with its members as they pursue sustainable opportunities and build trust in the banking sector in the changing economy and society.
“SBFN and IFC look forward to supporting UBA as it promotes good environmental, social and governance practices among its members,” said Rong Zhang, SBFN Global Coordinator. SBFN is a unique, voluntary community of financial sector regulatory agencies and industry associations from emerging markets committed to advancing sustainable finance in line with international good practice.
SBFN is facilitated by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). IFC supports UBA through its Program on Promoting Investment through Integrated Environmental, Social, Governance Standards in Europe implemented in partnership with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.
