IFC launched the self-paced video online training: “Guide to Green Bond Issuance for Financial Institutions”

In May, IFC launched the first-of-its-kind self-paced video online training: “Guide to Green Bond Issuance for Financial Institutions

The training provides a comprehensive step-by-step guide on how financial institutions can structure a green bond and go to market. The training includes interviews of real stakeholders involved in the green bond market ecosystem, such as Amundi Asset Management (investor), ISS Corporate Solutions (second-party opinion provider), Citigroup (underwriter), IFC, and Luxembourg Stock Exchange, as well as a case study on Isbank, the first bank to issue a pure green bond in Turkey.

There is a growing interest from IFC’s financial institution clients in issuing green bonds to tap into an increasing pool of ESG-focused investors, diversify their investor base, and signal their commitment to sustainability.

This training is based on the “GB-TAP Green Bond Handbook: a Step-by-Step Guide to Issuing a Green Bond” , which can be used as a continued accompanying practical desk reference.

The course can be accessed at no cost by registering here in the World Bank Group’s Open Learning Campus (OLC) website. Please note that you will need to create an account in OLC with your email address to obtain access and to receive the completion certificate. Once you create an account in OLC, you can also have access to other online courses free of charge.
