The Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA) Joins SBFN

August 20, 2021 – SBFN welcomes the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA) as our newest member.

ASBA comprises banking supervisors of North, Central and South America and Spain. ASBA’s mission is to contribute to the strengthening of bank regulation and supervision and financial system stability in the region by actively sharing information, disseminating knowledge, and providing support and services that lead to increased technical capacity and leadership.

SBFN has been supporting countries in the Americas on sustainable finance since its inception in 2012. Brazil and Colombia were two of SBFN’s founding members. SBFN members now include 19 financial sector regulators and industry association from 13 countries in the Latin American region, plus three regional financial sector bodies: the Federation of Latin American Banks (FELABAN), the Central American Council of Superintendents of Banks, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions (CCSBSO), and the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA).

SBFN and IFC look forward to supporting ASBA as it assists members to lead on national and regional approaches to sustainable finance.
